LOTTO is my hyperpop love letter to the city of Tokyo. Channeling a little Gwen Stefani, a hint of Bjork and a dash of Evanescence, the playful choruses contrast with the introspective verses and nostalgia invoked by "Sakura," the iconic Japanese folk melody featured throughout the song, over the punkish hip-hop beat artfully crafted by my collaborators and producers Andrew Rasmussen and Bangallure.

In LOTTO, two sentiments compete for the spotlight throughout -- the desire to connect more fully with an estranged homeland, and the hedonistic joy of reckless spending. I went to Tokyo every year for the first decade of my life. These trips had a major impact on my tastes and ideas. I’ve been back a few times in recent yearts and have fallen in love with the city all over again. To elaborate on the meaning of the song’s title and main hook, for artists and songwriters, every song is like a lottery ticket. If this song blows up, I am definitely buying a ticket straight to Tokyo!
